This five-time Grammy Award winner, English singer-songwriter was born on
14th September, 1983 to Mitchell "Mitch" Winehouse, a taxi driver and Janis
Winehouse, a pharmacist. Her most of the relatives from maternal side are well
known professional jazz musician. Her parents also encouraged a lot to enhance
her interest in jazz. Therefore, she owes much to her family for her successful
musical character. She spent much of her childhood under the guidance of her
father in music. At the age of nine, separation of her parents deeply affected her.
Her grandmother Cinthia encouraged her to attend the Susi Earnshaw Theatre
School for vocal educational training.
She married to Fielder-Civil, a former video production assistant but their whole
marriage life was under stressed due to the habit of drinking and taking drugs
and it legally broke up on 28 August 2009. She was romantically linked with the
director Reg Traviss for about two years before her death on 23rd July 2011.

In 2006 she won five Grammy Award for the album Back to Black that made her
the first British female to win five Grammys. In 2007 she won a Brit Award for
Best British Female Artist. She honored with the Ivor Novello Award three times:
once in 2004 for Best Contemporary Song (musically and lyrically) for "Stronger
Than Me", once in 2007 for Best Contemporary Song for "Rehab", and once
in 2008 for Best Song Musically and Lyrically for "Love Is a Losing Game". On
20th October 2003 her s debut album, Frank, was released successfully. On 20th
September 2011 her last recording, a duet with American singer Tony Bennett
for his latest album, Duets II, was released. On 12th February 2012, their single
from the album, "Body and Soul," received the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group
Performance at the 54th Grammy Awards.
Her inspiration
American singer Lady Gaga, Raphael Saadiq, Anthony Hamilton, and John Legend,
VV Brown, Florence and the Machine, La Roux and Little Boots all are her sources
of inspiration.

Apart from her performances in acting world, fashion world also know her by her
involving in product style selection and the application of fabric, color and styling
details and made her a fashion icon. By her own hard work she has come to be a
business brand worldwide with the collection consists of Capri pants, a bowling
dress, a trench coat, pencil skirts, a longline argyle sweater and a pink-and-black
checkerboard-printed collared shirt.
She was so famous in media that paparazzi always wanted to take chance
for a snap of her wherever they could. Her personal struggle with drugs and
alcohol, violent attitude, mood swing ruined her life and her fame and name was
destroyed which she earned in her early life.
