Madhuri Dixit – This beauty queen was born as Madhuri Shankar Dixit on 15 May 1967.She was born in a
Marathi-speaking Koknastha Hindu Brahmin family. This acclaimed Kathak dancer wanted to be a Micro-
biologist but glamour world found this would-be-microbiologist and persuaded her to appear on silver
screen. The loss to science was gain to entertainment world .

She won her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in Dil (1990). She was awarded
the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, 1 IIFA Best Actress Award, 4 Filmfare Best Actress
Awards, 1 Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award, Filmfare Special Award for completing 25 years in
the Indian Film Industry. Madhuri Dixit was awarded the National Citizen’s Award in 2001. This award
recognizes excellence in various activities affecting national life.
In 1999 Madhuri Dixit got married to Dr.Shriram Madhav Nene, a surgeon and relocated to Denver,
Colorado, U.S.A. The couple is blessed with two sons.
Since December of 2006, the Nene family temporarily living in India
as Madhuri is starring in 'Aaja Nachle' which is being directed by Anil
Mehta, and produced by Yash Chopra. In 2011, Madhuri shifted back from
the US to Mumbai along with her family.
She has also made her appearances in television shows like Nach Baliye
and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
This Ek-Do-Teen girl and Dhak-Dhak diva has allured our hearts with her amazing performance in
numerous successful films. Madhuri is one of the most loved and admired person in the film industry.
