Pamela Anderson

Today the nation's "Centennial Baby” is not only popular as the first

baby born on Canada's Centennial Day (100th anniversary of the

Canadian Confederation) but achieved fame internationally as actress,

model and producer. This inborn famous and talented character

was born as Pamela Anderson Lee on 1st July, 1967 in Ladysmith,

British Columbia, Canada. She was the daughter of Barry, a furnace

repairman, and Carol Anderson, a waitress. In 1985 after completing

her graduation from Highland Secondary School, she moved to

Vancouver and was employed there as a fitness instructor. The big

exposure came to her life when she was "discovered" at a Canadian

football game. Anderson, wearing a form-fitting Labatt's tee shirt, was

broadcast over the stadium's giant screen. She got the offer by Labatt's

to appear in their advertisements, followed by Playboy magazine's

to appear in five more issues of the magazine and soon became one

of the of most popular models. Her career ambitions, such fame and

popularity dragged the budding star to live in Los Angeles. The biggest

break in her life came in 1991 as "Lisa", the Tool Time Girl on the

sitcom Home Improvement. After that the biggest turning point came

in her life when the casting agents from Baywatch, who were looking

to replace Erika Elaniak, noticed her performance. Anderson gained

international recognition through this television hit series, which is seen

in 140 countries, worldwide. Her success and mass publicity did not

transfer well to the big screen and her first effort, Barb Wire, was not

well received and turned into commercial failure. In 1995, she married

to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and from the marriage they had

two children Brandon and Dylan, though it ended in 1998 after Lee

was arrested and convicted for spousal abuse. However, the couple

divorced in early 1998 she claimed she contracted the Hepatitis C virus

the disease by sharing a tattoo needle with Lee.

honeymoon tapes of the couple having sex were broadcast over the

Internet.

She is a lifelong vegetarian and advocate for PETA, protesting the use of

fur and the hunting of seals. She even auctioned off a 2000 Viper sports

car that appeared in Pam: Girl on the Loose to support the nonprofit

organization. Pamela also teaches at her sons' Sunday school and still

poses for magazines
