This Hollywood icon reached at the height of fame through her exotic good looks,
own capability, smartness and wittiness, intelligence and general likeability.
This Oscar-winning actress widely popular for the title role in the "Lara Croft"
series of blockbuster movies. Her appearance on many "most beautiful women"
lists, her personal life has also made headlines. The American actress as well as
director was born on 4th June, 1975. By heritance she absorbed acting skill from
her parents - her father is the Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight and her mother is
Marcheline Bertrand.

In 1976, when her parents separated, Jolie and her brother lived with their
mother, who solely gave focus on raising her children. Seeing movies regularly
with her mother, she was inspired to pursue her career in acting. To make her
dream true, she enrolled her name Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where she
trained for two years and appeared in several stage productions. She later joined
New York University, followed by renowned Met Theatre Group in Los Angeles for
film studies.

In her personal life she was under stressed due to the habit of drinking and
taking drugs. After divorcing Thornton in 2003, Jolie devoted much of her time
to working with refugees in impoverished countries and raising her adopted
children. It was later widely speculated through media that she began a relation
with actor Brad Pitt. Pitt separated from his wife Jennifer Aniston in January 2005
and, in the months that followed; he was frequently seen in public with Jolie,
apparently as a couple. Pitt's divorce was finalized later in 2005. Although they
refused to confirm the relationship, they remained tabloid cover stars for months
until Jolie finally admitted in early 2006 that she was pregnant with his child and
Jolie gave birth to daughter Shiloh that May. They also adopted a three-year-old
Vietnamese boy named Pax.

humanitarian efforts, to be financed by her actress salary. She devotes one
third of her income to savings, one third to living expenses and one third to
charity. She was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations
High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Some of her experiences were written
and published in her popular book "Notes from My Travels" whose profits go to
UNHCR.
