The popular "Chikni Chameli", in Bollywood and a Barbie Doll in the B-town has
drawn much more media attention due to her image as a sex symbol by an hour-
glass figure, flawless beauty and gorgeous looks. The supermodel was born on
16th July 1984 in Hong Kong to a Kashmiri father and British mother. At the age of
14 she moved to London from Hawaii. Her parents divorced when she was very
young and was raised by her mother with her seven siblings.
At the age of 14 she began her modeling career and her first approach was for a
jewelry campaign.

Thereafter she walked the ramp in the London Fashion Week, while she was
discovered by Kaizad Gustad, for his 2003 film, Boom, which did not well received
and sank without a trace.

In Mumbai she was offered a number of modeling assignments from LG,
Cola, Fevicol, Lakme, & Veet and has also been the stunning face of Estelle
jewelry, Pantene, Kodak cameras, L'Oreal, Samsung, etc.

Through her talent, confidence and personal hardships, she has taken Hindi
and dancing lessons to fit in with the Bollywood culture.
Katrina got lukewarm success with the 2005 film Sarkar with Abhishek
Bachchan and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya opposite to Salman Khan. In 2006 her
pairing with Akshay Kumar in Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, became a super
hit Jodi though the movie flopped .She got nomination for Zee Cine Award
as Most Promising Debut for Sarkar.
In year 2007 Katrina got her first major hit movie, Vipul Shah's Namastey
London, where she worked very hard, from dubbing for Namaste London
herself, to learning Kathak and used to the dance everyday for 7 hours
a day non-stop. Her hardship gave results with the commercial success
of Namastey London. Then she gave some hit films like Anil Sharma'

smelodrama Apne, David Dhawan's Partner and Anees Bazmee’s Welcome.

In year 2008 she acted in a negative role in Abbas-Mustan's action-thriller
Race. Then she came in Anees Bazmee's action comedy Singh Is Kinng
pairing Akshay Kumar. The film was a big success at box office. At the end
of the she starred in film Yuvvraaj which did not receive well. She won
Sabsey Favourite Kaun Awards, Sabsey Favourite Heroine for Singh Is Kinng.
In year 2009 she starred film New York with John Abraham and Neil Nitin
Mukesh which was also a commercial success. At the year’s end, she gifted
us Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani with Ranbir Kapoor and De Dana Dan.She
was honored with Stardust Awards, Best Actress – Popular Award for New
York &Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
In year 2010 she appeared in Prakash Jha’s directed political thriller
Raajneeti which was a blockbuster on box office. Then Tees Maar
Khan which didnt made well on box office. She was nominated for Big
Star Entertainment Award for BIG Star Most Entertaining Film Actor
(Female).She achieved Star Screen Award for Best Actress (Popular Choice)
for Raajneeti and Tees Maar Khan
In 2011, Katrina Kaif was seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
and Yash Raj Films’ Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Both these films were well
received by the audience. Besides, both of them are very popular with the
youth.
In this year Kabir Khan's spy thriller Ek Tha Tiger opposite ex-boyfriend
Salman Khan has been released and achieved huge success.
In 2012 she won Zee Cine Awards as International Female Icon.
Katrina Kaif will next be seen in two Yash Raj Films’ projects: opposite Shah
Rukh Khan and YRF’s golden girl, Anushka Sharma in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, the
action thriller Dhoom 3 alongside Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday
Chopra and Rimi Sen.
Her other upcoming movies are -7 Days In Paris, Partner 2 , Aasman, Mein
Krishna Hoon , Dostana 2 and Jewel Of India.
She is worldly recognized as a leading contemporary actress of Bollywood

for her item numbers such as "Zara Zara Touch Me" from Race , "Sheila Ki
Jawaani" from Tees Maar Khan and "Chikni Chameli" from Agneepath .

She was popularly known as Salman Khan's long term girlfriend and there was
rumor that Salman was going to marry her in the near future. But the relationship
broke and she was linked with Akshay Kumar for some time. Now there is a
whisper that she is romantically linked with Ranbir Kapoor, the young dashing
face of Bollywood. After her breakup with Salman they are still in good terms with
each other and their on-screen chemistry gave Ek Tha Tiger released in this year
