Mahie Gill
She is at her boldest ever in Anurag Kashyap’s critically acclaimed film Dev.D most
known for her role of Paro that earned Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress and
IIFA Star Debut Award in 2010. She was born as Rimpi Gill on 19th December, 1975
in Chandigarh, Punjab in a Sikh family. After completing Masters in theater from
Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1998 her career in acting began with Punjabi film
Hawayein and has done a couple of Punjabi films along with theatre. Mahi first
came to the notice of Anurag in a party that led to her break in Bollywood to play
the character of Paro in movie Dev D which is a modern take on Sarat Chandra
Chattopadhyay's Bengali novella Devdas.
Later Ram Gopal Verma's 'Not a Love Story' , based on true story of Niraj
Grover Murder case of 2008 and Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster with Jimmy
Shergill and Randeep Hooda , released on 30 September 2011, gave her big
exposure. For the last one she got nomination at the FilmFare awards for best
actress. She also performed in Paan Singh Tomar with Irrfan Khan for character of
Paan Singh Tomar's wife.
Being a divorcee and a struggling actress in Mumbai for the past three years she
has to face a lot but she always thanks to her mother and her professor Mohan
Maharshi and actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya, those who have guided her and
inspired her by putting their faith in her.

She draws much more media’d attention by highly intimate scenes of a sexual
nature in a number of films specially the nude scene in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster
and a extreme hot and sensuous photoshoot for Maxim mens magazine.
