Gillian Anderson

This American multi-talented actress achieved the name and fame in the field of
Television as Special Agent Dana Scully on the American television series The X-
Files. She was born as Gillian Leigh Anderson on 9th August, 1968 born Chicago,
Illinois to Edward Anderson, who ran a film post-production company and her
mother Rosemary Anderson worked as a computer analyst.

At the age of 11 years, after relocating to Grand Rapids, Michigan she attended
Fountain Elementary and after that City High-Middle School and completed her
graduation on the humanities in 1986.

During her high school, her career was started as an amateur actress but she
wanted to make it big and her passion drag her to the National Theatre of Great
Britain Summer Acting Programme held at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York
and she studied there for several weeks under such NT greats as Michael Joyce,
Peter Chelsom and Bardy Thomas.

In her personal life Anderson married to Clyde Klotz, The X-Files series assistant
art director in 1994 and was blessed with two sons, Oscar and Felix. But their
relationship did not last and ended in divorce in 2012 stated with the reason of
conflict of personalities.

Her fame catapulted to a new level of mainstream recognition after her brilliant
performance in "The X-Files" as Dana Scully with David Duchovny.

Her memorable works were in 1998 starred in the film Playing by Heart with Sean
Connery, Angelina Jolie, The Mighty with Sharon Stone, in 2000 The House of
Mirth with Eric Stoltz, as Lady Dedlock in the BBC Television’s series Charles
Dickens' novel Bleak House, in A Cock and Bull Story on the novel Tristram
Shandy in 2006 The Last King of Scotland with James McAvoy and in 2007
Straightheads with Danny Dyer.

Anderson performed in Johnny English Reborn, which opened internationally
in Australia on 15th September, 2011 and as Miss Havishamin a three-part BBC
adaptation of Great Expectations that aired in late December 2011. Recently she
has been cast in the lead role for a new drama series for BBC Two titled The Fall.

She has graced the covers of numerous publication around the world as "Sexiest
Woman in the World" for FHM's 100 Sexiest Women poll, as one of the 50 Most
Beautiful People in the World by People magazine,

Guild awards for "Best Actress in a Drama Series, National Society of Film Critics

Guild Television and Radio Award for Best Actress for her role in Bleak House,

She is also famous for her worldwide philanthropic activities. She supports the
Neurofibromatosis Association as NF, Inc.'s honorary spokesperson, tribal rights
charity Survival International. She is also associated with PETA to support animal
rights.
