Deepika Padukone
This hot Indian Bollywood actress and model draws media’s attention by
her hot and sexy image. She is popular mostly in Hindi films, as well as
Tamil and Kannada language films. Padukone was born on 5th January, 1986
in to internationally famous badminton player Prakash Padukone and her
mother is a travel agent. Though she brought up around badminton
background, she was not interested in a professional sport. From the very
young age she had interest in modeling as well as acting. When she eleven
months old her family moved to Bangalore, Karnataka, India from
Denmark, where her father was then training in the sport. Her younger
sister was born on 2nd February. After schooling from Sophia High School in
Bangalore, she completed her pre-university studies at Mount Carmel
College Bangalore. Thereafter she enrolled with the Indira Gandhi National
Open University for Bachelors of Arts in Sociology. During that time she
pursued a career in modeling and after spotted in a ramp competition in
NLS, Bangalore worked for several popular Indian brand names as Close-Up
toothpaste, Limca, Liril, Dabur Lal powder and became the "brand
ambassador" for the Jewels of India retail jewelery show and the
spokesperson of The cosmetics company Maybelline. She was awarded as
the “Model of the Year" at the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards
following as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for
2006 and won two trophies at the Idea Zee Fashion Awards: "Female
Model of the Year - (Commercial Assignments)" and "Fresh Face of the
Year". Shortly afterward, Kingfisher Airlines and later Levi Strauss and
Tissot SA chose her as the brand ambassador. She was one of favorite
students in the Anupam Kher School of Acting and the success inspired her
to focus on acting as a career.

In 2006, she made her debut in the Kannada film Aishwarya starring
opposite actor Upendra.
In 2007, Farah Khan's international hit Om Shanti Om opposite
Shahrukh Khan established her as a successful actress. For this film
she was nominated for Filmfare Best Actress and earned a Filmfare
Best Female Debut Award.
In 2008, Siddharth Anand's romantic comedy Bachna Ae Haseeno opposite
Ranbir Kapoor and alongside Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba gave
moderate response.
Her next film Chandni Chowk To China, released on 16 January 2009, sank
without a trace.
A significant turning point came in her life with her fourth release Love
Aaj Kal, released on 31 July 2009 that proved to be one of the biggest hits
of this year. Despite of many criticisms, she received her second Filmfare
Award for Best Actress nomination.
She was also appreciated for an item number in the Irrfan Khan-Lara Dutta
starrer Billu and for her guest appearances in the Telegu film Love 4 Ever
and in Sohail Khan's Main Aur Mrs Khanna.
Sajid Khan's multistarrer Housefull became a blockbuster in India,
with a net gross of INR 95 crores in the first week.
Her other films Yash Raj production, Lafangey Parindey ,directed
by Pradeep Sarkar in 2010; Ashutosh Gowarikar's Khelein Hum Jee
Jaan Sey, the year 2011 with an item number in Rohan Sippy's Dum
Maaro Dum starring in a remixed version of Zeenat Aman's iconic
song from Hare Rama Hare Krishna., Prakash Jha's reservation
melodrama, Aarakshan starring alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Saif
Ali Khan and in 2012, Homi Adajania's Cocktail opposite Saif Ali
Khan and Diana Penty, proved the unique combination of amazing
performance, surprising talent and grasping beauty.
She was romantically linked with Ranbir Kapoor in 2008 and afterwards
with Vijay Mallya's son Siddharth Mallya but both the high profile
relationship did not last long.
