Catherine Bell
This popular American actress is best known for her role of Lieutenant
Colonel Sarah MacKenzie of the television show JAG from 1997 to 2005. Her
style, elegance and piquancy are the qualities that set her apart from her
contemporaries. The famous icon was born in London, England on 14th August,
1986 to a British father and Iranian mother. When she was only three years old,
she relocated to California with her Iranian mother who still acts as her personal
assistant.
In her childhood being very tomboyish in nature she was not at all conscious
about her look and knew nothing of how to wear makeup or doing hair. She was
brilliant in Math and Biology. If she wasn’t a performer she would be a doctor or
biomedical engineer. She is very fluent in Persian and English. From her school
days she is very physically fit and loves all sports, particularly kick-boxing, skiing,
and snowboarding.
She went to the University of California at Los Angeles to study biology, but
dropped out to become a model in Japan and joined her first acting class and was
so attached that never looked at back.
In her personal life, she married Adam Beason, whom she met on the set of Death
Becomes Her and was romantically linked. At that time he was director Robert
Zemeckis's assistant. Currently the couple currently lives near L.A. with their
daughter Gemma who was born on April 16, 2003, and their son, Ronan, born on
August 21, 2010

Being a natural performer as a child artist, she acted in various TV adverts. In
1990, she was on the game show, To Tell the Truth, where as a massage therapist
she came to the limelight. She made her debut on television sitcom Sugar and
Spice in 1990. From 1996 to 2005 she performed as Lieutenant Colonel Sarah
Mackenzie of the United States Marine Corps Judge Advocate General's Office in
the series JAG.
Her performance in Lifetime's ensemble drama series Army Wives as Denise
Sherwood, the wife of a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, who endured domestic
violence at the hands of her teenage son during the show's first season, turned
her as bonafied star. Her other awesome performance are as the lead role
Hallmark’s The Good Witch in 2008, and its sequels The Good Witch's Garden in
2010, in 2011 The Good Witch's Family and The Good Witch's Charm in 2012.
Currently she stars in the Lifetime Television series Army Wives as Denise
Sherwood. She also starred in another Hallmark movie titled Last Man Standing.
Other interest:
Her hobbies include cross-stitching and making model cars, which she has
done since age 8.In 2007; Bell was the grand marshal of the NASCAR Nextel Cup
Series race at Dover International Speedway. During the Hollywood writers strike,
Bell took flying lessons in a Cirrus SR22. She is now a practicing Scientologist.
She is famous for her worldwide philanthropic activities and associated with
Scientology's Hollywood Education and Literacy Project and In February 2006 Bell
appeared in a Scientology music video called "United" where other performer she
promotes human rights with a rap song. In December 2005 Bell helped promote
the gala opening of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, "Psychiatry: An
Industry of Death" museum.
